Certified Sexual Violence Center Services

What is Sexual Violence: it is any sexual attempt or act committed against someone without their consent; unwanted sexual advances; and the use of coercion to have a person submit to unwanted sex.

MUJER knows that sexual violence is a traumatic and an emotionally devastating experience that can happen to children, women, and men at any age.  It may make you wonder if you’ll ever recover.  It can make you feel alone and frightened.  It can make you feel let down by your community and the people you trust. It forces you to make difficult decisions about whether you want to tell someone, and if you decide to, who to tell, and whether to report the crime to the police.  It can leave you with many questions about your medical needs, your rights, and what options are available to you.  It can make you feel isolated and powerless.

You are not alone!  It's Not Your Fault

Advocates are available to help you with all of the questions and difficulties this horrific crime has created in your life, regardless of when it happened.  They understand the impact of sexual violence are here to talk with you.  Support group services are available, where people with similar experiences can come together to heal their pain and offer strength to others.  Finding support for your feelings and needs is the most important step towards recovery.
