Today, I am with my children living a life without violence. Before
coming to the program, I felt alone and that is why I would remain in my abusive relationship with my husband. The last time that he hit me – a neighbor called the police. I got extremely mad at my neighbor because of his interference, I felt lonely. Now, I thank him. The Department of
Children and Families removed my children from my home – but I believe that the only way I was able to get through this situation was with MUJER’s help, I couldn’t have done it without them…… The program has helped me see reality and has given me the strength to work for a better future for my children and me. Today, I have moved from a one-bedroom apartment to a three-bedroom house and have a steady job and I feel that I am in control of my life.
